Thought For Today
“For me, the different religions
are beautiful flowers from the same garden,
or they are branches of the same majestic tree.
Therefore, they are equally true,
though being received and interpreted
through human instruments equally imperfect.”

I remember on an episode of Kid Nation there was a discussion about sharing religious beliefs. As the kids were discussing whether or not to participate in this discussion, there were of course those who were defiant that their religious beliefs were the only ones that were right There Christians, Muslim, Jews, Pagans, Agnostics, and maybe even an Atheist. Most religions believe that “God” is the supreme creator, the debate is over who the prophet was or is to become. The interesting thing I remember about these kids is when they realized that their respective religions shared a common “God” their intolerance diminished and they were more open minded about hearing about others beliefs.I believe religious intolerance is not inherited but taught, and religious intolerance is either taught out of fear, bigotry, ignorance, or all of the above. The most important thing to remember is that we all are Gods children.
